with Guest Stephanie Harman, MD

Dr. Stephanie Harman is a pioneering palliative care physician and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford.Sojourn Scholar (2017 Cohort), she led a project focusing on harnessing machine learning to improve palliative care access. She co-founded the Palliative Care Program at Stanford Health Care in 2007. As the inaugural Associate Chair for Women in Medicine in the Department of Medicine, she champions gender equity and leadership development. Dr. Harman also created the Women Leaders in Academic Medicine (WLAM) program in the Division of Primary Care and Population Health and serves as the Director of the Stanford Leadership Development Program. Her work has significantly advanced palliative care access, leadership, and diversity in medicine.


Guest’s Guest: Shireen Heidari, MD

Dr. Shireen Heidari is a dedicated palliative care and family medicine physician with extensive experience in providing symptom management and supporting patients and families facing any stage of a serious illness. She serves as the Program Director for the Stanford University Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, where she trains the next generation of palliative care leaders. Dr. Heidari is also an excellent storyteller and has published multiple inspiring pieces about the importance of human connection and the mental health of healthcare workers.
